The original Edinburgh and Elgin candlesticks were made from the remains of a bagpipe that had fallen into disrepair. One can only imagine the pomp and ceremony that these marvellous pieces of turning have been involved with. The original pieces made in 1940 from the bagpipes have been at home ever since.
